Balmain

Balmain

Pierre Balmain’s first designs could be summed up in two words: luxury and simplicity.  Balmain's first presentation in the fall of 1945 was a brief fashion moment, which highlighted just a few dozen designs—but it helped to introduce a new, golden age of post-war Parisian couture, while also establishing the firm foundations that the house of Balmain continues to build upon today. In November 2025, Balmain announced the appointment of Antonin Tron as the new Creative Director of the House. Antonin’s approach to design, rooted in the art of draping and the physicality of fabric, marks a continuation of Pierre Balmain’s foundational belief that “dressmaking is the architecture of movement”. Like Balmain, Antonin sees fashion as a spatial art, building around the human form with precision and emotion. Antonin will build on the House’s heritage of creativity, craftsmanship, elegance, and profound human values.
