Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Eclectic, Classic, Comfortable.
Q: How did you fall in love with fashion?
A: Musicians and music videos. I was obsessed with artists who had strong personal styles and aesthetics- Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Selena Quintanilla, The Spice Girls. Then, pre-teen me picked up a W Magazine at a doctor's office, and ever since, I've been in love with the idea of using fashion to convey visual stories.
Q: Do you have any style inspirations?
A: I love people watching in New York. I'm inspired by the different types of styles and people that move throughout the city.
Q: What's the best piece of style advice you've ever gotten?
A: Be comfortable/own what you're wearing! That means different things to everyone but if you're not comfortable it will show.
Q: What's your dream photoshoot?
A: One of my favorite shoots that I've worked on is a skateboarding fashion editorial that I pitched to Elle Magazine when I was working there as an assistant in 2017. I was the most junior member of the team but I had an idea inspired by the girl skate groups in my neighborhood and just female skaters I was seeing on social media (this was right before athleisure/skatewear had its mainstream renaissance) and the Fashion Director loved it. It was so cool to see the editorial come alive from start to print. More recently, one of my favorite shoots that I've worked on was Nylon's Natasha Lyonne cover. It was a shoot that came together with a short lead time but my team had a strong vision and we hustled to get it done.
Q: What trends are you eyeing this year?
A: Baggy jeans, leather pants and leather maxi skirts.
