A Quick Spotlight of Our Favorite Shows

New York Fashion Week 2020 was quite a busy week for our owner, Stacy Smallwood. Her and our team attended a variety of amazing runway shows, including our all-time favorites such as Ulla Johnson and R13, as well as the emerging designer, Christopher John Rodgers. Our time at fashion week embodies all we love about the variety of styles and brands that we carry here at Hampden.

Ulla Johnson

Ulla Johnson’s Fall 2020 collection was confident and bold, with bright colors and layers of accessories sported during the runway show. Widely known for lively prints, Ulla Johnson also shifted her attention this season to puffed sleeves and a high-waisted cinched-in dress. Hampden has been carrying Ulla Johnson for many years and we have loved each unique collection but Fall 2020 is one to be on the lookout for.

R13

R13 brought the edge to the game by showcasing distressed denim, military-styled jackets, over-the-top hots, and western-inspired belts. With Kaia Gerber opening and closing the show, we were captured in immediately with the high-quality, yet easy and effortless looking pieces for the Fall 2020 collection.

Christopher John Rogers

The Christopher John Rogers show, in our perspective, was one of the best shows of the season with the energy in the room being vibrant and vivacious. Not only do people love Christopher just as a human being, but they also love how he brought so much power, light, and color back to the runway, but with a sense of ease.

Tibi

Instead of showcasing the Fall Winter 2020 collection down the runway, Stacy attended the Tibi presentation, which was a relaxed and affable event. The FW 2020 collection was inspired by travel-wear; comfort yet still looking chic. We love being able to support brands that we carry at Hampden by seeing their growth and success.

Not only do we love the runway shows and the market appointments, but New York Fashion Week is also a great time to connect with industry insiders. We love meeting up with our NYC-based friends to catch up on their latest happenings and trends.

Street Style

One of the best parts of being in the bustling streets of New York during NYFW is the street style. We love being able to see how tastemakers are styling outfits is a good source for evoking creative style and inspiration.

Fall 2020

After a couple of weeks of hard work, but also a lot of fun, we are so excited for our FW20 buy. We saw a lot of shackets, faux leather, and suits. Most of the colors were nature-inspired with different shades of greens, browns, and blues. Be on the lookout for our new collections hitting the floors of Hampden late summer 2020!
