Hampden is a multi-brand boutique offering an ultra-curated selection of over 100 established and emerging luxury fashion labels along with a unique contemporary designer assortment of ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories. Situated on Charleston’s famous King Street, the 10,000 square foot flagship location is housed across three historic buildings that date back to 1878, making Hampden the largest storefront on the iconic street.

 With a focus on creating clean lines while providing an inviting atmosphere, the main spaces feature poured concrete floors, exposed original wood beam ceiling, and industrial fixtures to allow the clothing to hang against a clean backdrop that encourages discovery. The dressing rooms are outfitted in custom Rebecca Atwood wallpaper, along with plush carpeting to evoke a cozy, living room like setting.

About The Role
The Sales Manager at Hampden is responsible for overseeing the sales team, the operations and distribution team, and the visuals of the floor. They are present on the sales floor most of the day to ensure the sales and visuals are being executed to the Hampden standard. The Sales Manager must be able to communicate across all departments. 

  • Hold stylists accountable for their actions
  • Create sales goals for stylists and play an active role in helping them achieve their goal through leadership
  • Manage approval return deadlines, ensuring they're charged in a timely manner
  • Create sales staff schedule and communicate it to Operations Manager
  • Hold monthly one-on-one meetings with each stylist
  • Communicate sales goal achievements from stylists to HR for bonuses
  • Walk the floor constantly to ensure everything and everyone is supported
  • Manage the sales portion of pop ups and work with the Operations Manager on logistics
  • Communicate with the buying team on any needs of the store
  • Communicate with Stacy on anything going on in the store
  • Review top clients lists and analyze lists for each event
  • Overall grasp of daily flow of inventory and general view of what should be taken care of at the store, including ownership of workings of the store
  • Get to know top clients
  • Not afraid of conflict and holding people accountable according to Hampden's roles and responsibilities
  • Isn't afraid to work hard and get their hands dirty, a master of efficiency
  • Lead the all team morning meetings each day
  • Manage allotments for the sales team

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years experience of managing a luxury retail sales team
  • Technologically-saavy
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized, able to manage multiple projects with awareness of priority and timeline
  • Financial acumen
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and listening skills
  • Resourceful, speedy, flexible, and agile
  • Mac iOS
