Fascinated by the rich and powerful history of headpieces, which are signifiers of royalty and ceremony, Jennifer Behr is inspired by the talismanic power of a good headpiece. After majoring in sculpture and art history, Jennifer honed her skills stitching custom headpieces at a tiny millinery shop. This eventually led to Jennifer designing the hair accessory collection for hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai in 2001. When Fekkai discontinued his hair accessory line, Jennifer’s buyer at Bergdorf Goodman encouraged her to start her own collection, promising to buy it sight unseen. Each season, Jennifer artfully incorporates a range of materials to create unique heirloom-quality pieces, carefully constructed by hand in New York City. Complex pieces can take hours to create, and this dedication to quality is readily evident. Every piece is a special creation, waiting to come alive when worn.
